Counselling
A counselling session will help you explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and experiences in an effort to help you develop a better understanding of yourself and of others.
###My approach to counselling:
I consider trust, authenticity, and cultural competency to be the cornerstones of a successful therapeutic relationship. My approach to counselling is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and humour - I want to create a space in which every client is truly seen, heard, and understood for who they are. I operate from an anti-oppressive, strengths-based, intersectional, grief and trauma-informed framework. I am passionate about working with the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) community, and I am LGBTQIA2S+ affirming.
I approach wellness from a culturally responsive and holistic lens - this involves exploring the mental, emotional, physical, cultural, and spiritual components in our lives. I draw on multiple theoretical orientations and techniques in order to create tailored treatment plans that effectively address every individual client’s unique needs.
I want to create a warm, inclusive, and non-judgemental space that promotes awareness and healing for every client I have the privilege of working with. Together we will work collaboratively to understand and define your goals, discover your strengths, and create meaningful change. My hope is that you feel supported, empowered, and optimistic at the end of every session.
